Dr Rachel Howard

Rachel Howard has more than 20 years of policy and political experience, spanning government, multinational, not-for-profit and academic settings in Australia and abroad.

Rachel has worked at senior levels of the Australian Government, including as a Senior Adviser to the Prime Minister (2019-2022).

Prior to Federal Government, Rachel worked in Australia, Asia and Europe for a multinational FMCG company and, prior to that, managed public affairs campaigns for independent schools.

Rachel’s professional experience is complemented by a PhD in Political Science, where she investigated the political use of late-night comedy during election campaigns.

Rachel enjoys crafting strategic solutions to complex and challenging problems and thrives on collaboration with colleagues, clients and stakeholders.

Rachel is also a Founder and Director of Equal Workplaces, an advisory firm that helps employers take meaningful action to reduce their gender pay gap and navigate related reputational risks. Equal Workplaces is proudly part of the 89 Degrees East Group.
