Lauren Martyn-Jones
Director
Brisbane
After making the leap from academia into journalism, Lauren accumulated a wealth of experience working for News Ltd’s many mastheads. She’s broken stories ranging from government to gangland wars, as well as covering complex policy issues, such as water economics and energy. Lauren is a talented wordsmith and meticulous researcher who can distill complex issues into compelling messages.
Since joining 89 Degrees East, Lauren is particularly proud of her work for Stillbirth CRE, which aims to reduce Australia’s rate of stillbirth and support bereaved parents. Lauren is also passionate about gender equality and improving education access for all.
In her downtime, Lauren likes to sweat it out at hot yoga classes, as well as spend time with her family, which includes frequent escapes to Noosa. Her parental words of wisdom to her children are ‘do your very best’.
