Ruth’s professional experience includes law, market research, project management and finance. At 89 Degrees East, Ruth manages all of the finances and human resources.
She was previously involved in a successful start-up in the travel industry, which after a period of impressive growth was acquired by a national organisation. And in terms of inspirational movements, Ruth points to Medecins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders) as her number one.
Ruth is particularly fond of horse riding, which ties into her charity work with Riding for the Disabled. The organisation aims to enrich the lives of children and adults living with physical or mental disabilities.
Some fun facts about Ruth are she can ride a Penny Farthing, her dream superpower is teleportation, and her favourite quote is, “The secret of life is to fall seven times and to get up eight times,” by the Brazilian novelist, Paolo Coelho.
